Dynamic Duos #13 - Monochromatic Challenge

This week Dynamic Duos colours are Early Expresso & Crumb Cake which I translated into PTI Dark Chocolate & Kraft.  I know that maybe I have a serious issue with coffee, because I used it on a Dynamic Duos challengeS before, see HERE and HERE.  You are probably thinking does this girl have any other stamps?  However, as soon as I saw the colours this week I knew it was going to be coffee again!  I made a little gift card holder to give to a friend who is in need a a little girl talk.  I remembered to take a photo before putting the zipper panel over the card.  The inside reads 'For a little Girl talk'.

CCC #4 (CASology Cue Card)

Time for another Cue Card at CASology. Moving on to week four and what a response the site has had with so many fantastic entries every week! This weeks cue card is:

I wanted to show you this week that a CAS card does not have to be white.  I didn't use any white on my card this week but I allowed my one layer focal panel to have lots of open space.  The card itself can be put together easily but for me it is the design process that is more time consuming.

The birds are from Melissa Bickford's Tweet Talk stamp set and the sentiment from Heart-2-Heart #3.  Both  can be found a Papertrey Ink.  Instead of using white I creating this clean and simple card using Ripe Avocado and Kraft.

Head on over to CASology today to learn what the `cue card`means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

Dynamic Duos #12 & Rugby

This weeks Dynamic Duos Challenge was to create a project using Black Tie and Poppy Parade with the option of using punches.  I have no idea why I struggled with this one but I will just put it that life has gotten much busier than usual this summer.  I have been waiting for the opportunity to use my rooster die from Papertrey and when I was looking at my red gingham paper I decided it was time.  There is always someone who needs some encouragement or needs to be reminded to step back and take it all in.

I wanted to share this photo of my son taken at his last rugby game on Tuesday night.  I love this picture because it isn't posed, he has his game face on, so focused and sporting his new crazy rugby haircut.  I wish I had taken a picture of his rubgy shorts after the game, they are WHITE!  I have never seen grass stains so vivid green, but after soaking and scrubbing they are white again just in time for tonight.  LOL  He plays for Team Ontario and just found out he will be going to the Nationals in Sherbrooke Quebec in August then two days later he is going to compete in Toronto at the Ontario Summer Games.  A proud mama moment.

colourQ #147 & Some Exciting News

I am so excited to share some exciting news with you.  Arielle Gordon from colourQ and Retro Sketches has asked me to join the colourQ Design Team.  If you heard a scream about a week ago, sorry it was me! I entered my first card at colourQ November 2011 and I haven't missed a week since.  Now I am thrilled to be able to be a part of a team of talented ladies who inspire colourQ visitors every week!

This weeks colours go together so beautifully.  I love the blues and green, but then the pop of pink ties it all together.  I was also excited to get out my Happy Hexagon set and really get to play with the colours and designs.  I used the Hexagon Cover Plate as a template to lay out my hexagons.

Cardstock: White, Hibiscus Burst
Stamps: Happy Hexagons, Beautiful Butterflies
Ink:  Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain, Simply Chartreuse, Hibiscus Burst, True Black

I hope that you will join us this week at colourQ.  See you there!

CCC #3 (CASology Cue Card)

Time for another new challenge at CASology, this weeks cue word is Fruit.  I broke out my Fruit Fusion Melon set  from PTI for this one and my brand new Happy Summer set from Lawn Fawn.  I think that ant is so so cute.  I kept my card CAS by using matting and keeping lots of open space on my focal panel.

Can you believe that we are already on our third Cue Card?  We hope you can come out and play with us this week.

Head on over to CASology today to learn what the `cue card`means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

RS #21

When Arielle Gordon contacted me last spring to ask me if she could use one of my CARDS from February 2011 as a RetroSketch I was so incredibly excited.  To be able to share something that I created with some of my favourite papercraft rockstars!??  Just crazy.  Now here we are with Retro Sketch #21 which features a sketch of my card.  Doesn't Arielle create the cutest sketches?

colourQ Challenge #146

Time for another colourQ challenge.  A fabulous colour palette once again.  At first wanted to follow Arielle`s lead and make a Christmas card because I really should get started.  However, we have had record breaking heat in Southern Ontario all summer and this past week we topped 100 degrees with high humidity a few days.  We are not used to heat like that around here.  Don`t get me wrong I am not complaining, but when you are not used to that heat it slows you down and Christmas was about the last thing on my mind.  So I decided to pull out my PTI Lighten Up, which has been pretty unloved and create a card to cheer someone up.

All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:

Cardstock: Kraft, White, Pure Poppy
Stamps: Lighten Up
Ink:  True Black, Simply Chartreuse, Pure Poppy, Classic Kraft
Dies:  Lighten Up, Hearts Border
Other:   foam dots

Dynamic Duos #11 - Subtle Colors

Cutting a bit close for this weeks Dynamic Duos challenge.  I was so excited to see the colours this week as I love both the blue and the pink.  I made a card for my nephew and his wife who are expecting their first in October.  This pink and blue is perfect because the baby was a bit uncooperative at the most recent ultra-sound, so they do not know yet if they are having a boy or a girl.

When I went to photograph my card I noticed that the bird had smudges all over it!  I decided rather than to try and remove the bird, that I would just stamp another bird and adhere it to the smudge.  How do you fix your projects when something happens on the top layer?

All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:

Cardstock: White, Spring Rain, Sweet Blush
Stamps: Tweet Talk, It's Official
Ink:  Spring Rain, Sweet Blush
Dies:  Tweet Talk, Limitless Layers Squares
Other:   foam dots

Leave it to CAS-ual Fridays to create a fun and suggestive challenge.  Let's Strip means to use strips of colour or patterns in your clean and simple creations.  I was in love with a washi tape card I saw recently so I decided to create a card using strips of patterned paper from Lawn Fawn instead of washi tape.
