DD#26 & RS#35

At the first looking at both this weeks Dynamics Duos colours and RetroSketches fabulous sketch by Jennifer Wills I was a bit concerned.  However, the whole idea behind blog challenges is to push up to reach beyond our comfort zone and try something new.  Well I combined these two challenges together and came up with a card that I really LOVE.  The colours came together and the unloved image pulled it all together.

Last summer during Scrap-a-Faire I learned that buying a large roll of foam tape at the hardware store was much more economical that buying the smaller rolls at the craft store.  The 36" roll at the craft store was $11.99 and the 350" roll at the hardware store was $12.98, big savings.

Keeping close to the sketch I came up with this card:

All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:

Cardstock:  Honeycomb (Bazzill), White, Harvest Gold (PTI)
Stamps: All About You Additions
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
other: Harvest Gold button, button twine (PTI), foam tape

Fabulous take on the sketch, and the colors. I don't recall ever seeing or noticing those flowers, but they are so cool.

Tracey this is gorgeous ! Love the button flowers in shades of yellow. My husband brings me my rolls ... I roll a small amount onto an old used one and add as I need. Beautiful card perfect for both.

What a delight this is Tracey! I'm a button girl so this is right up my alley. LOVE the way you've attached the sentiment banner with your twine treatment. Thanks for playing along with us at Dynamic Duos!

I agree with you, Tracey, I LOVE how your card turned out! I'm going to pin this one. I love button flowers, but they never seem to look as cute as this. You inspire me to try again!

OK, that totally made me smile : ) Love how you used flowers, but stuck to a non-traditional color scheme for flowers. Keeps the focus on the buttons!

Your card is lovely. ;-) You fulfilled both these challenges beautifully. I didn't even attempt either of them, so you have me beat! It really is lovely.
