Time is just flying, we are almost halfway through 2015!

Jeanne Jachna is our hostess this month and she sent us a kit absolutely LOADED with supplies to make masculine cards!  Like so many of you cards for men are the hardest! I pulled together a few cards but there are so many leftovers so make more ince I see what everyone else has done. I also have a few ideas for cards that will be coming soon!

Brooklyn's Prom 2015 and Paper Smooches Sparks

IMG_8137

Happy Saturday, I am hopefully sleeping by the time you visit!

Brooklyn had her prom on Friday night and I have to say I am exhausted--lol!
It seemed like such a long time coming, she has been planning this since she was in grade 9. We made it--the dress, the shoes, the mani/pedi, the makeup, the hair, oh my. To see how happy and excited she was getting into that limo made it all worthwhile for me.  When she came home to change for the after prom party she couldn't believe it was over. She didn't want to take her dress off but since the after party was at her girlfriends grandparents barn, I advised against leaving it on, hee hee hee.

Lots of photos, I just loved seeing these kids all dressed up like adults. Most of them I have known for years--they have gone through school together...if you make it through to the bottom I have a card to share that I made from a kit that Emily Leiphart made for the Toronto girls when they visited me here in March. You see as exhausted as I am I am wide awake--bound to crash soon.

Here she is ready to head outside--so windy...

One of a kind updo...

Her date was a really good friend, a really nice boy and they looked great together and he bought her the most beautiful wrist corsage.

Waiting to get into the limo...

the guys must have been excited to see what was inside the limo because that is where they are...

The venue was down by the lake (Lake Ontario that is). It was so cold there, a difference in temperature from our house of 12 degrees C. We only live about 5 km away. They're young and do not notice!

The next few pictures are with friends since elementary school...

and one more of my girl, because I can!

Thanks for sticking with me, now here is my card for today that is for the Paper Smooches May 2015 Designer Drafts

Tag You're It #22 - Reminder

Happy Friday!

Things are buzzing in my household today...it's PROM day!
Brooklyn is so excited to finally be wearing her dress. She is on the prom committee so her day starts with setting up the venue, then I will be picking her up for makeup, then hair and home to get dressed by 3:00. It is kind of resembling a mini wedding--lol. I think I am a little bit excited too! I'll be sure to share some photos.

There is still time to play along at Tag You're It for Challenge #22!
You have until Wednesday, June 3 9:00 am EST to link a tag up based on this inspiration from Lynn Put!

My Reverse Confetti Fabulous Flamingo stamps and dies came out to play. I added some green washi tape to the bottom of the tag before die cutting so that the scallop stayed crisp. Hope that you have a chance to come out to play with us. See you over at Tag You're It!

Muse: ChristmasVisions Guest Design

IMG_7928

I am so excited to share with you today that I am the Guest Designer for Muse: ChristmasVisions #4.
I am happy to be getting back into making Christmas cards again. This year I will be ready.

For my card I had some fun playing with a few techniques.  Maybe some more layers and elements in my design than my usual CAS style but I do love the texture and dimension. I started by blending some Distress Inks for my sky--I used Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar. The pink shows up better in person. Then I used my Falling Snow stencil and white embossing paste for my snow and then carefully added my sentiment. In retrospect, I think I should have added the sentiment before the embossing paste. Then I added my snowdrifts with foam tape and then trees that were cut from some papers from Fancy Pants Oh Deer!

I hope that you come over to Muse: Christmas Visions and play along this week!

Well after 5 and 1/2 weeks of being home while the high school teachers in our board have been on strike they were legislated back to work today. So up bright and early to get to school.  We got the call last evening and it was a bit of a shock for my daughter, who said they didn't give us much warning! I gave her the teenage eye roll! Really?

I am linking this to the new Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes!

CCC #148

Happy Tuesday and it's time for a new Cue Card at CASology!
This week our cue is:

My version of this week's cue kind of took me by surprise. I wasn't sure if I have the right stamp or sentiment for the cue but by going through my stamps looking for a 'story' I came across this stamp set that has not seen a lot of ink.  The inside of the card say 'Congratulations on your new home"! Agt CASology we can't wait to see what your 'story' is!
