Spring Fling '16

Welcome to the March edition of the 12 Kits of Occasions!

Michelle Leone is our hostess this month and this is her first time hosting since she joined the team.  She sent us all the most fabulous kit full of sweet springtime papers, die cuts and stamped images to play with. Most of the items in her kit I have never seen before and I could have made so many more cards than I did. So I might have held some things back to see what the rest of the ladies did with their kits.

So on to what you are here for...

I was so excited to get a chance to play with some Right at Home stamps. My first card is using the Let Love Grow veggies, they are so cute! I also used the Basket Weave Cover Plate from Frantic Stamper for my background! My Scan N Cut did a fantastic job of cutting my veggies out!

I used the latest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for my second card and added the darling birdie paperclip that was included in our kits this month.

Time for a new CASology Cue Card!
This week the Cue is:

I think washi has become something that is in everyone's craft drawer. Whether it is one roll or a whole drawer full. There are so many uses for it. To hold our dies in place in die cutting machines, to cover card fronts, boxes and books, to label things, in our planners or like I used it today as a design element.

Head over to CASology to see what the rest of the Design Team created this week. Hope to see you play along with us.

Happy Tuesday!
It's time for this week's new colour palette from the colourQ!

I inked up my new Reverse Confetti Roes Garden stamps this week for the challenge.  My background is a watercolour wash of PTI Aqua Mist and then I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right once it was dry.  My roses stamped in Calypso Coral, PTI Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores. I cut them out using my Scan N Cut and we had a bit of a time getting it right.  With a little help from the manual and You Tube videos I finally got them cut out.  Then I adhered them to the base with some foam tape and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.

Hope to see you over at the colourQ again this week!

Muse Christmas Visions #37

IMG_9973

This week over at Muse Christmas Visions my friend Emily is the guest designer with this fun card:

So I had to play along and need to get back into making Christmas cards again! I need challenges like this to keep me on the straight and narrow!  Here is how I was inspired:

tracey_MCV#37b

  • my Yetti is inside a snow globe instead of between jars
  • my trees are inside the snow globe
  • I put a strip of black and white stripped paper along the bottom of my card instead of as a full mat
Head over to Muse Christmas Visions and play along, the challenge runs until Wednesday morning at 8:00 am EST!

One final Easter tag...

Happy Easter!

I made one final Easter tag on Saturday. As it turns out I am going to have my whole family home for Easter dinner. Ben is going to drive in Sunday morning to spend the day and have dinner.  He is taking a break as the sauna construction is ahead of schedule. So happy that the Easter bunny has one more basket to fill!

I watercoloured this one with my ZIG's

Inspired by All the Little Things #8

IMG_9960

Another new challenge over at Inspired by All the Little Things! This week I am your hostess hostess with this gorgeous succulent wedding bouquet! I was so drawn to the photo on Pinterest by the beautiful colours...

I chose to make my card using the Sweet Succulent set from MFT Stamps and then i worked with the colours from there. The peach chevron background paper was die cut from a rectangular Zig Zag STAX. The images were coloured with Copic markers and then I added a few Pretty Pink Posh green sequins from the Kindness mix. The pot in the forefront was popped up with some foam tape for dimension.
