Hello Spring

Happy Monday!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend, we had a beautiful weekend. I shouldn't say it but I think that winter is finally over. All the snow has melted, green is sprouting up from the ground and the temperature is getting warmer.

I have a card to share today that is up on the Jillibean Soup Bean Talk blog today. I used these sweet spring flowers from the Bowl of Dream Pea Pod Parts die cuts. The hello sticker is from the Chit Chat Chowder Soup Labels and 'hello spring' was created using the tiny green alphabet stickers. Topped off with a few self adhesive sequins! So easy to put together.

 Have a wonderful week!

Inspired by All the Little Things #53

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By All the Little Things!

Isn't this inspiration as cute as can be.
I went very literal with it this week although I had some other ideas, it just means there may be another card. I used an older set from Waffle Flower Crafts, the images are still as fresh and fun as they were when I got it. The camera didn't pick up the sparkle embossing very clearly but I made another process video for today's card and you can see it better there, I have it posted under my card. You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel. I've been having fun doing these!

Head over to Inspired By All the Little Things and see who I have as my guest this week, I bet you already love her work!

Whatever the Weather

Hello crafty friends! I an excited today that I have a post up on the SugarPea Designs Blog about the benefits of multi-use stamp sets! I explain my method of choosing and using these stamp sets as I create these two colourful cards.

Full details on why I love multi-use stamps and how I made my cards are over on the SugarPea Designs blog today! Thanks for visiting!

Birch Press Design Beautiful Butterflies

I am up on the Birch Press Design blog today with this card using the Genevieve Butterflies craft dies.

For my card today I started by watercolouring a soft spring background of green and yellow Distress Inks. You can easily use any ink to create a watercoloured background by smooshing your ink pad on to a craft sheet or acrylic block and adding water to it. Once the background was done I let it dry for a minute and then flicked some green ink on to it and set it aside to dry completely.

While waiting for my background to dry I die cut a bunch of the Genevieve butterflies in various colours using Genevieve Butterfly A, Genevieve Butterfly B and Genevieve Butterfly C. Once die cut they were adhered together. I did not use the antennae from the Genevieve Butterfly C this time.

I chose three different colour families, using the darkest colour for the Genevieve Butterfly C.

Once the background was dry it was adhered it to a card base with foam adhesive tape and then the butterflies were adhered to the panel in a random order to emphasize movement. A sentiment from Close to the Heart was stamped with VersaMark ink on the watercoloured panel and embossed in silver. Finally a few clear, Stickles filled sequins were added to the panel.

I have an extra set of the Genevieve Butterfly dies so I think it is time to do a giveaway to one lucky winner. Leave a comment here on this blog post for your chance to win. If you want to double your luck head over to my Beautiful Butterflies post on the Birch Press Design blog and leave another comment there. I will draw  the name using the entries from both locations. Instagrammers you have a chance too, see my Instragram post.

You have until Friday, April 21st 11:59 EST to enter.
I will announce the winner on my blog next week!

ETA: Congratulation Teresa Doyle! Email me to claim your prize!

SugarPea Designs Spring 2017 Product Release: Day 5

Welcome back to the final day of SugarPea Designs Spring 2017 Product Release sweet peeks!
It is so exciting as all of the new products will be available for purchase at the SugarPea Designs store tonight at 6:00 pm (EST)!

Today we are introducing the final Stamp and SugarCut die from this release, Breakfast in Bed:

For my first card today I started out with a grey card base, then I cut the blue houndstooth paper from the new Sugar & Spice paper pad using the previously released Birthday Journal Card SugarCut die and the white interior panel from the same die. The sentiment from the Breakfast in Bed stamp set was stamped on the white panel. The breakfast tray was cut from grey cardstock using the new Breakfast in Bed SugarCut dies. The vase from the same set was cut with vellum and the bottom sponged with blue Distress Ink. The tissue box was cut with paper from the Sugar & Spice paper pad as well.  The flowers, teapot and tea cup were stamped from the Breakfast in Bed stamp set. The flowers were coloured with Copic markers.

My second card was created using the new Sweet Incentive Watt's Up stamp set. The hanging bulbs were stamped with a combination of VersaMark ink and Versafine Onyx black ink and then clear heat embossed. The filament inside the bulbs were watercoloured using Distress Inks. I added a clear Stickle filled sequin inside each bulb. The card was finished off with a sentiment also from this set.

I hope that you have enjoyed all the sweet peaks this week and are excited to be first in line to fabulous new products and remember...

Place an order of $60 or more (excluding discounts and shipping) and you will receive the Watt's Up (a $14.99 retail value) FREE on orders placed from April 14 - May12.
